Ozone Therapy for Epstein-Barr Virus

Are you tired all the time? Do you have ongoing aches and pains? Does it feel like no matter what you do, you don’t feel rested? Perhaps you have Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) and it has been activated or re-activated. About 75 percent of the population has EBV.

EBV is a contagious infection that causes infectious mononucleosis as an acute reaction and chronic fatigue as a long-term or chronic reaction. The illness is spread by casual contact, usually via saliva. Mono has an incubation period of four to six weeks. The vast majority of adults have antibodies against EBV, meaning they have been infected with the virus and are immune to mono.

Fatigue, severe sore throat, swollen lymph nodes and fever are common symptoms of mono. It can be associated with an enlarged spleen and liver inflammation (hepatitis).

Chronic EBV can feel like: being tired all the time, even with plenty of sleep; still getting feverish on and off and have an occasional sore throat, swollen lymph nodes and muscle aches; and feeling unwell or like something isn’t right, but no doctor can find what’s wrong.

Traditionally, it’s recommended to stay home, rest and drink plenty of fluids. But most of us don’t have four to six weeks to lay around. You may be prescribed an antiviral, but it doesn’t really help clear out the virus. EBV, like the common cold, needs to run its course.

An alternative to drugs and bedrest to treat EBV, cytomegalovirus (CMV) and herpes is Ozone. Ozone mixed into the blood will increase the body’s cytokines, which will disrupt the cell walls of the virus and shut down its replication. All viruses can encode themselves into our DNA, so we cannot 100 percent eliminate them. However, we can decrease their numbers and let the immune system reset back to balance. This cuts back any symptoms one may have from an overload, which is what makes us sick.

Ozone also supports our immune system by opening our micro-capillary bed so the whole body can get super-oxygenated. This does damage cell walls of fungus, bacteria and viruses, thereby clearing these out. Ozone is anti-inflammatory, a great detoxifier, it reduces acidity and increases energy.

Ozone therapies have been around about 100 years now internationally, though its introduction into U.S. medicine has been slow. Ozone can be used mixed into blood and given in an IV; intramuscularly; injected into joints, ears and sinuses; or given rectally or vaginally.
