Taizé, Thanksgiving and Advent Worship

Casas Adobes Congregational Church, UCC, offers Taizé services on the second Thursday of each month, from 6:30 to 7:15 p.m. With its beginnings as an ecumenical inter-spiritual community in France, Taizé is an alternative form of worship, embraced by people of all faiths worldwide.

This unique service includes soothing music, brief readings and silent meditation. There is no sermon. People from all walks of life and faiths are welcome. Many come to Taizé to appreciate the quiet meditation and lyrical songs, reflect on their journey through life and feel closer to the Spirit of God.

Casas Adobes also offers a Centering Prayer Group, every Wednesday from noon to 1 p.m. Upcoming advent worship services include: Wassail and Adventfest, 9:15 a.m. to noon, December 3; Christmas Eve, 10:15 a.m., 3:30 p.m. and 9 p.m., December 24; New Year’s Eve and Blessing of the Bread, 8:15 a.m. and 10:15 am, December 31.
