Once again, Govinda’s Natural Foods has surpassed the ordinary. On inspection for reopening, the health department representative was so impressed by Govinda’s level of cleanliness that she asked about the standards they follow. Sandamini Devi, Govinda’s founder, was pleased to share with the inspector the Brahminical regulations employed by all who live and work within Tucson’s Krishna Community. “Cleanliness is one of the four pillars of spiritual life. The other three are mercy, austerity and truthfulness. Here at Govinda’s, our meals are prepared by chefs who live by these truths,” she says.
