Wild places are essential to our planet and our wellness. Explore some of the world’s important landscapes and learn about “Why We Need Wild Places” in this month’s feature article on page 24. There are also some tips on how to create more wild space at home, like replacing non-native plants with native ones, leaving the leaves where they lie and more.

Another special, wild treat comes to us from writer Suzie Agrillo, who shares her unforgettable trip to the Galapagos Islands last year. Her research into the many creatures and nature that only exists there is fascinating—complete with plenty of colorful photos.

Some local news this month includes a mental health program using ketamine-assisted psychotherapy, how to keep children safe from wireless radiation, slowing our cells’ aging and using meditation to refresh and renew this spring.

April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month, and we have included an important article on page 13, which discusses how we can get past the stigma of sexual assault and use helpful modalities to start to heal from the trauma that so many people have unfortunately experienced.

Get out into the wild this month, appreciate this beautiful planet and be kind.
