We are getting into the holiday spirit here at Natural Awakenings, from inclusive celebration feasts to the healing powers of generosity and gratitude. As you can see from our cover, this month we also have a great interview with Dr. Deepak Chopra about the quantum body, meditation and achieving peace.

“Humanity and the Healing Power of Generosity and Gratitude”, on page 16, is a lovely look at how the tenets of generosity and gratitude shape this time of year, but also our own psychological well-being.

It’s also the season for colds, coughs and other sicknesses, so read about some natural approaches to feel well—despite the often-unavoidable germs we’ll encounter—on page 20.

Want to be the ultimate host this season? Learn how to plan a fun, inclusive and safe feast, taking into account various food limitations, allergies and more, on page 22. Just a few minor swaps can make a recipe more accessible to all—but just as delicious—and your loved ones will not forget your thoughtfulness.

A critical bit of prose this month is the Inspiration piece from Marlaina Donato on page 21. “Treating Ourselves” is a wonderful reminder not to lose sight of the real meaning of this season—but more importantly, not to lose sight of ourselves.

Don’t spread yourself too thin, overpromise or be afraid to say “no” when you need time to yourself. The gift of inner peace is the ultimate reward for the last few days of this year.

To inner and outer peace,
Holly
