As summer begins to wind down, August offers a wonderful opportunity to pause, reflect and focus on the foundations that support a healthy, fulfilling life. This month’s issue is centered on Building Healthy Foundations, with stories designed to inspire healthier choices for ourselves, our families and our community.
One feature I hope you’ll take time to read is Raising Healthy Humans on page 16. The article explores a holistic approach to pediatric care and why it is becoming an increasingly important conversation for today’s families. As more parents seek ways to support their children’s overall well-being through nutrition, lifestyle, emotional health and integrative care, understanding these options can help build a strong foundation for lifelong wellness.
I’m also delighted to share this month’s Community Spotlight on page 10, featuring an engaging Q&A with the incomparable Sandra Bernhard. She opens up about her life, career and creative process with the wit and authenticity that have made her such a beloved performer. Sandra will bring her live show, Caught Off Guard, to the Fox Tucson Theatre for one night only on November 21. It is truly a pleasure to feature such a charismatic artist in this issue.
As we begin to transition from the hottest days of summer, I encourage you to explore the many other articles throughout this month’s magazine. Learn about a terrain-based approach to cancer prevention and care, discover thoughtful perspectives on growing as a woman and embracing the life you have, and find practical ideas that support your own journey toward greater health and balance.
Whether you’re taking small steps or making significant changes, every positive choice helps create a stronger foundation for the future. Thank you for allowing Natural Awakenings to be part of your wellness journey. I hope this issue leaves you feeling informed, inspired and encouraged to continue building a healthier life, one day at a time.
Wishing you a happy, healthy August,
Holly Baker, publisher
