A Journey through the Genealogy of Scent" Natural Scent Training Class
Join Miriam Vareldzis of Palette Naturals at the SAAG Gallery (Southern Arizona Arts Guild)
Join Miriam Vareldzis, scent expert/perfumer-designer, for an immersion into the Art of Perfumery and the Language of Olfaction. In this guided smelling-session using exquisite natural materials, students are introduced to the major Olfactive families, the vocabulary of perfumery, the origin of botanical materials, and the effect scent plays on emotion, memory, creativity, psychology, physiology and well-being. Whether the goal is to unveil the mysterious art of perfumery, stimulate the connection between all the senses, enhance creativity, experience a deeper awareness of the body through odor molecules, or simply curiosity… this workshop is a gateway into our sense of smell and the world of perfumery & olfaction. Special Note: In this post-pandemic time, we will address Anosmia (loss of sense of smell) and Parosmia, (distorted sense of smell) and other smell disorders. Currently, Olfactive training is being explored as a supportive therapy in rehabilitation and recovery. Please be sure to bring water, pen/notebook, cotton handkerchief or scarf. Please arrive to class fragrance-free (abstain from wearing perfume, scented boy lotion or hair products).
