Natural Awakenings Tucson

Path to Emotional Healing Program Orientation

A healing program designed to promote self-reflection and help people learn how to best respond to emotional hardship.

The therapeutic benefits of this six-week program are documented, and for many who participate, they are transformative. 80% of enrollees report less sadness, hopelessness, fear, and loneliness, with more happiness and joy reported at the end of the program.

Particularly with the impact Covid has had on our lives, more people are suffering with anxiety or depression. People are also struggling with emotionally draining life transitions, such as divorce, the loss of a job or a loved one, or a serious illness. This program provides a means for honestly reflecting on one’s personal journey in this life and for considering how a participant wants to move forward. It genuinely helps people gain a fresh perspective on their past and the present. The program inspires participants to change their way of seeing situations and gives them a better understanding of life as it is.  Facilitated by healthcare professionals, the program uses an illustrated workbook which presents 12 themed walks, identifying points along the garden walkways at which to pause, reflect and experience a sense of ease. Each theme contains beautifully written, insightful contemplations and questions to reflect upon while pausing. Participants pause, read the guided contemplation, reflect and write in their journals. Walks are based on such themes as awareness, trust, possibility, forgiveness, joy and fulfillment, and are designed to elicit reflection on one’s life, within the serene and calming environment of Japanese gardens. The guided reflections provide ways to consider problems and “put things in perspective.”  In the process, a shift in emotional health is created.  The $175 fee covers three scheduled group meetings with the program facilitator (beginning with the orientation), the workbook, a contemplative video, and unlimited admission to the Gardens for 90 days.
