Learn healthy breathing techniques for relaxation and stress reduction
In this workshop, certified breathwork and yoga instructor Lydia McDowell will introduce the fundamentals of functional breathing and offer techniques for daily practice and healthy breathing behaviors. Drawing from modern breathing research, Qigong, and the Buteyko Method, this workshop is part educational and part experiential focusing on Breathing for Peace.
Stress, anxiety, postural patterns, injury, and illness are all ways breathing habits can become sub-optimal over time, affecting the quality of sleep, how much energy is available to us, and our body’s ability to process the demands of our daily lives. By consciously re-adjusting the breath, using simple, repeatable techniques, we can restore and improve this most essential part of our health. The result is greater calm, clarity, and vitality.
