Earth Harmony Festival Showcases Sustainable Living

The third annual Earth Harmony Festival will be held October 4 and 5 by Avalon Organic Gardens & EcoVillage, a virtual oasis in the desert nestled in the picturesque Santa Cruz River Valley in Tumacacori, Arizona.

Festival activities include great live music, healthy and tasty food, a vendor village with local and fair trade artisans, a fun and interactive children’s village with pony rides and camping for those that want to stay and enjoy the starry nights and sunny days.

The highlight of the festival is touring the engaging and educational EcoVillage, where guests can explore and discover sustainable living practices such as permaculture, organic gardening, seed-saving, the cultivation of heritage and heirloom vegetables and grains, composting, rain and grey water-harvesting, eco-building projects, Arizona’s largest food forest system, solar and wind power, the workings of a community supported agriculture (CSA) program, and more.

Donations for activities and tours are encouraged to foster the EcoVillage’s many nonprofit programs and prototype projects for creating a more sustainable, environmentally conscious and friendly world.

Admission is free. For more information and camping reservations, call 520-398-2542 or visit EarthHarmonyFestival.org. See ad page 7.
