The Loft Cinema is a local nonprofit that screens new independent, foreign and documentary films along with classics, live theatre events, film festivals, special guest appearances and more. The cinema offers beer, wine, pizza, tamales and other unique options at its concession stand for viewers to enjoy while they are watching a movie.

“Our main theatre is home to the largest screen in town (50 feet wide) and we have the ability to screen on 35mm and digital—and just added 70mm this year,” says J.J. Giddings, marketing director of The Loft Cinema.

Voted Best of Tucson every year since 2003 by the readers of Tucson Weekly, The Loft hosts an annual international film festival in the fall and a free children’s film festival every July.
