Natural Awakenings Tucson

Natural Diabetes Nurse, Denisse Cabrera

Denisse Cabrera

Denisse Cabrera, RN, began Natural Diabetes Nurse in Tucson this June, to help people who want an alternative to managing, preventing or reversing diabetes. Cabrera is an additional resource/guide alongside a healthcare provider. Cabrera has been in healthcare for over 22 years. In addition to being a registered nurse, she is a Certified Diabetes Educator, Certified Life Coach and Functional Medicine Health Coach.

It is important to know, according to Cabrera, that medication (insulin) is not meant to cure diabetes, but to intermittently/temporarily lower blood sugar. In most cases, more is needed over time and/or side effects develop that can prevent people from continuing treatment, leading to other medications that may counteract some of these effects. Lifelong medication use is not ideal for anyone.

“It is time to look at the truth about diabetes and what is needed to truly overcome it. That is my area of expertise and I am delighted to partner with people to see them succeed,” expresses Cabrera. “Natural Diabetes Nurse is here to serve the community and is ready to partner with you and your healthcare team to reach your health goals.”
