Forty years ago, Vonnie Schultz Albrecht, RN enrolled in an EMT class to lend support to a friend. Unexpectedly, she found a passion for helping people in need and the ability to remain calm under pressure. Within a few years, she was a licensed Registered Nurse acquiring experience in emergency, critical care, flight and office settings. When a series of events impacted her health and mobility, she turned in a different direction with the hope of avoiding looming disability.

During specialty training in early 1993, Albrecht began to understand that true traditional medicine was born from ancient practices and principles that considered the whole person. She witnessed the benefits of integrative therapies, and they were helping her recover her own health. She was inspired to establish Very Special Alternatives to provide holistic skilled nursing. Her broad experience and infusion expertise are a special touch for the patients of naturopathic and holistic physicians.

For more than two decades, Albrecht has also maintained a colon hydrotherapy practice. Her “Slow Flow” method for colon irrigation uses a gentle flow of purified water into the large intestine and minimizes the use of pressure to cleanse the buildup of waste and restore natural function. A warm, relaxing space creates a safe, reassuring environment for first-time clients or those who prefer a more comfort-focused setting.

Consultations, ear coning, ozone therapies and probiotic reflorastation are also offered, and new modalities will be available later in 2020. A free 15-minute consultation is available.
