Free Meditation Talk and Classes

William P. Smith, a retired Army lieutenant colonel engineer with a master’s degree in geographic information systems from the University of South Carolina, has traveled extensively, giving talks on meditation in several countries. William will give 12 talks in January, sponsored by the following public libraries: Valencia, Murphy-Wilmot, Quincie Douglas, Oro Valley, Himmel and the Joyner Green Library, in Green Valley. He will also speak at the Yaqui Tribe Center.

Topics include reducing stress-related responses, improving concentration and enhancing clarity of thought and mental equilibrium. Smith will also present a simple, yet powerful meditation technique that can enrich one’s life personally, professionally and spiritually. A four-part series of free follow-up meditation classes will be given to allow attendees to learn and be comfortable with meditation at the Murphy-Wilmot Library, Oro Valley and Joyner Green Libraries, also sponsored by the libraries, as well as Wellness First, a health center on 1st Avenue.

Ongoing free meditation meetings are also available. For more information, call Pat at 520-398-4266 or email [email protected]. For dates, times and locations, see the Community Calendar.
