s the shift toward prevention strengthens, the use of digital infrared thermal imaging (DITI) grows, specifically in the area of breast screening. Conventional medicine encourages women to have annual mammograms, touting the mantra that early detection saves lives. While this is true, not every woman will face a breast cancer diagnosis in her lifetime—yet every woman can benefit from improved breast health.

Thermography is utilized to help determine risk factors for the development of disease, offering women the opportunity to make changes to reduce these risk factors. While mammograms check for suspicious findings on film, DITI captures a woman’s unique and stable thermal pattern, along with embedded temperatures in these digital files, giving a detailed assessment of risks for future breast cancer onset. No radiation or compression is needed for these images.

An initial breast study with a repeat scan in three months establishes what is stable for each individual. Annual imaging is done to alert women to changes in breast tissue and axillae (underarms) so that unchecked risks can be quickly dealt with through preventative measures and eliminate inflammation—a major player in the development of virtually every chronic degenerative disease.

Awareness of personal risk factors—lymphatic congestion, abnormal inflammatory patterns, etc.—offers insight into what may need to be resolved to diminish the possibility of future disease. Improving upon breast health can lead to improvement in overall health, and knowing where to start is invaluable.
