Clinical aesthetics is the “encore career” for Dr. Suzanne Pear, a registered nurse with a doctorate (Ph.D.) in epidemiology (study of diseases in humans), who spent most of her career focused on preventing hospital-acquired infections in patients and staff. Her background includes 30 years with the Department of Veterans Affairs Healthcare System in Tucson, plus additional years with the Carondelet hospitals.

When Pear decided it was time to find a new passion outside of the hospital arena, she became intrigued with skin care, went to Pure Aesthetics Skin Care School and achieved her aesthetics license prior to transitioning to practicing advanced aesthetics at the Pampered Skin Studio. Along the way, she also became certified in Oncology Aesthetics, as well as Ethnic Skin Care.

Just as Pear was passionate about protecting hospitalized patients from getting infections in the hospital, she now focuses her passion on helping her clients love the skin they’re in. She always starts a client’s first visit by educating them about their skin and how to care for it—“Skincare 101”, she calls it. For example, anyone who has suffered from acne knows how complex and difficult that problem can be. Pear helps her clients comprehend the related genetic, hormonal, dietary and basic skin factors involved so that they no longer feel that breakouts are beyond their control.

The Pampered Skin Studio offers a full range of skincare treatments, from basic microdermabrasion and exfoliating facials to multi-staged European pore-cleansing treatments incorporating galvanic, microcurrent and ultrasonic devices as well as skin peels suitable for sensitive skin and all ethnicities. As an RN, Pear is also able to offer advanced aesthetic options such as Botox, Juvederm fillers and the latest rejuvenation technique, NovaThreads—the “Lunchtime Face Lyft”. This no-down-time, minimal bruising procedure provides a nonsurgical means of lifting naso-labial folds, jowls and neck sag without creating an over-filled or unnatural look.

The treatments most prized by Pear are those incorporating natural, holistic methods and products that initiate and support the body’s own healing capabilities. These include the Energy Light Rejuvenation Facial, which in addition to a microdermabrasion facial, integrates customized LED color, microcurrent, chakra-balancing sound and acupressure to revitalize facial muscles as well as balance the body’s energetic meridians. This truly is whole-body healing disguised as a facial. And for unparalleled value and long-term rejuvenation effects, nothing beats microneedling treatments to regenerate collagen and diminish frown lines, acne scars and sun damage without the worry of permanent injury to delicate tissues that lasers can induce.
