This issue of Natural Awakenings has such fresh, bright, healthy vibes. From the refreshing cover image to the bright, colorful articles on eating well, growing plants and being playful, I hope these pages evoke a joyful curiosity in you.

On page 11, “Food as Medicine” dives into what types of foods we should include in our daily diets to help us with all sorts of health goals. Pay attention to the colors you’re eating, with a helpful guide to what each color on your plate can mean.

Of course, gut health is always an important focus when the goal is a healthy body and mind. So many of our body’s woes can be assisted by paying attention to what our gut needs. Learn more about this in our feature article, as well as on page 15, with “Healing the Gut with Food”.

Summer often means a lot of time spent cooking outdoors on the grill. We talk about healthy, sustainable grilling tips in “Sizzling on the Grill”, page 20. Try out unique recipes, like the delicious looking BBQ Brussels Sprouts Sandwiches, and find a new summer family favorite!

Now that we’re getting back in the swing of things, support our local entertainment industry by checking out the lineup of shows returning to the Fox Tucson Theatre. After taking time away from large, in-person events, the theatre is back with a season full of shows and experiences, and we’re excited to feel connected to each other with these fun events again (page 9).

Take care of yourself and your community this month. Have fun with it! Holly
