Releasing Tension and Trauma to Achieve Wellness
Tension & Trauma Releasing Exercises (TRE) is a modality that activates the body’s built-in shaking mechanism, called neurogenic tremors, which causes the muscles to relax. Relaxing tense muscle patterns reduces stress in the spine, neck, shoulders and pelvis. When tension is released anywhere in the body, the brain registers a reduction in pain signals, producing new hormones that promote healing, improve sleep and build resilience.
Built-up tension is said by some to be the cause of many chronic illnesses. Anyone that can do light exercise can do TRE. The practice is easily learned and can be done at home on a regular basis.
