Hospice Harmony House Extends Care During Holidays

Harmony Hospice’s primary purpose is to provide excellent care that improves patients’ life quality through the comfort of loved ones alongside specialized care. Harmony Hospice programs are personally created for each patient and family to meet individual emotional, physical and spiritual needs, whether it is in the patient’s home or in a facility. Hospice care can improve life quality so that every day is truly lived.

Harmony Hospice expands beyond traditional forms of hospice care, extending comfort to patients’ visiting families. As the holiday season begins, many hospice patients will expect to spend time with loved ones from out of town that would likely need to find lodging.

Tucson’s new Harmony House facility, which opened in May, has reduced the financial burden put on families during this time by providing family members and caregivers housing that includes an equipped kitchen, two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a dining area and a private patio and pool area, all at no cost. This space provides relaxation for caregivers, as well as a home away from home for families to rejuvenate during visits. This service is available year-round, with the intention to make visits more affordable and frequent.

Harmony Hospice’s reach extends not only to patients and family members, because fundraisers involve the community in supporting hospice patients. All proceeds go to the Hospice Charitable Fund, which helps those in hospice care meet needs and life wishes they could not otherwise meet on their own. The hospice’s largest annual benefit, the Festival of Trees, will take place from December 7 through 15 at the Garnet of Casa Grand.

Tucson’s Harmony Hospice is located at 2055 N. Kolb Rd., Ste. 121. For more information, call 520-284-9334 or visit HarmonyHospice.org.
