Local Veterinarian Provides Innovative Therapies

Dr. Randy Aronson

Dr. Randy Aronson, creator of the Partners in Animal Wellness (PAWS) Veterinary Center, built his healing center around a vision to provide the most comprehensive and innovative treatments for our companions. His facility offers preventative treatments, in-house diagnostic procedures, a complementary combination of Eastern and Western medicine and rehabilitation practices, rather than symptom treatment alone. He aims to care for the whole animal and unify medicinal practices to yield the most benefit for his patients.

In an effort to enhance preventative and diagnostic capabilities as well as treatment outcomes, Aronson complements conventional biomedicine with alternative medicinal practices to support the most effective healing for each pet. Alternative therapies include Chinese herbal therapy, acupuncture, Chinese pulse and tongue diagnosis and stem cell therapy. Animal rehabilitation physiotherapies restore normal movement and muscle mass and accelerate healing while reducing pain and inflammation.

Planning rehabilitation takes many factors into account, specializing treatment based on length of time since the injury, age and temperament and recovery goals. Trigger-point therapy, balance retraining, underwater treadmill and hydrotherapy, and low-level laser therapy are a few of the many treatments PAWS offers. The veterinary center also offers Aronson’s product line of pet vitamins and dietary supplements to aid overall pet health between appointments.

PAWS emphasizes the importance of low-stress visits. Aronson has focused on creating ease in appointments for both his clients and their pets. Two waiting areas are designated for “shy” and “social” animals. Separate exam rooms are used for cats and dogs, with options for special lighting and pheromone therapy available to reduce animal stress. PAWS is certified as a “cat-friendly practice” that offers feline boarding, with all team members trained in felinefriendly handling and two designated feline advocates on staff.

Aronson continues to educate not only his staff, but also the community through his PAWS Radio show, where he discusses alternative therapies for pet care, offers nutritional counseling and draws on more than 30 years of traditional veterinary experience to provide medical insight for solving health problems. PAWS has received recognition from the American Animal Hospital Association as an International Hospital of the Year. PAWS is a facility equipped with specialty treatment areas, a knowledgeable staff and innovative therapy methods to support veterinary excellence in all areas.
