Whole Body Cryotherapy Available at Evolve Physical Therapy & Sports Performance

Nov 02, 2015 01:36PM

Evolve Physical Therapy & Sports Performance is now offering whole body cryotherapy (WBC) at Tucson’s only cryotherapy chamber. WBC is the non-invasive use of extremely low temperatures to hasten the body’s recovery and healing time. Benefits include improved athletic performance and recovery, improvement of disease processes, rehabilitation, energy and mood improvement, boost in metabolism, skin rejuvenation and more.

“WBC helps the body recover from exercise by flushing out the muscles and delivering oxygen and nutrients,” says Kate Warren, physical therapist and CEO of Evolve Physical Therapy & Sports Performance. “It increases resistance to fatigue and improves the muscles’ capacity to regenerate. It decreases inflammation associated with muscle soreness and injury, speeding up the recovery process.”

The anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties of WBC improve joint disorders, such as arthritis, and it can also reduce inflammation due to psoriasis and eczema. WBC increases metabolism by improving blood circulation, boosting oxygen and nutrient delivery and removing toxins, causing fat to be burned faster. By improving oxygen and nutrient delivery to the skin, wrinkles can diminish while toxins are flushed away. Collagen production is activated by the intense cold, leaving skin firm, tight and more elastic.
