Natural Awakenings Tucson

Women are Loving ThermiVa

For over a year now, Tula Wellness, in Tucson, has been offering ThermiVa, a comfortable and non-invasive treatment for mild to moderate stress incontinence or urge incontinence (involuntary leaking of urine) and vaginal rejuvenation. Tula Wellness is following up on the many clients who have finished their three treatments, and the results are confirming ThermiVa’s efficacy. Women have had remarkable results with partial or complete resolution of symptoms.

At Tula Wellness, these treatments are done by two highly experienced clinicians with over 50 years of combined experience in gynecology—Dr. Arianna Sholes-Douglas, M.D., FACOG, and Barbara Cooper, CNM, NP. This includes a complete pelvic exam to assess any problems and to individualize patients’ treatments. This personalized care is not offered in offices that do not focus on gynecology.

“Vaginal moisture and lubrication are increased. There are cosmetic benefits of vaginal rejuvenation as well,” reports Sholes-Douglas. “Women report their labia being smaller and tighter and firmer. There is a tightening of the vaginal opening. Our clients are pleased to report increased sexual response, and even an increase in libido related to changes in the tissues and improved comfort with sex.”

ThermiVa treatments use radiofrequency energy to gently heat the vulvar and vaginal tissues to reclaim, restore and revive feminine wellness without discomfort, surgery or downtime. The safe treatments are an excellent option for women with vaginal dryness when systemic and topical hormones are contraindicated. Treatments are done in a series of three sessions lasting 30 minutes, each session a month apart. The treatments’ effects can last up to one year with women coming in for a “touch-up” treatment at six to 12 months.
