Changing Subconscious Beliefs Can Change Our Lives

Our subconscious beliefs about ourselves can powerfully influence the course of our lives, for better or for worse. According to world-famous hypnotherapist, Marisa Peer, a belief triggers a feeling, the feeling triggers an action and that action leads to events in our lives.

If the initial belief was positive, such as “I am loveable and I deserve to be treated with respect,” we are more likely to approach our lives with a positive outlook. Our positive self-belief leads to a feeling of confidence. This confidence may make us more likely to choose relationships with people who treat us well. However, if someone has the belief “I am unlovable. I have to work hard to earn love,” that person may be more likely to accept poor treatment from others because they were never taught that they deserve better.

Importantly, it is never a person’s fault for having negative self-beliefs, nor do they “deserve” the poor treatment they may receive from others. These beliefs are subconscious, meaning we are not consciously aware that we have them. We often form these beliefs when we’re very young and don’t have the life experience to know that the beliefs are not true and can actually cause us harm.

The good news is, we can change our beliefs using the power of the subconscious mind with techniques such as hypnosis. Issues like feelings of anxiety and low self-esteem can be transformed into confidence and high self-esteem. By changing our subconscious beliefs, we can change our lives.
