But the truth is, many are realizing that there’s so much more to life than what we can see, hear, taste, touch and smell with our five senses. It can be tough to talk about those unusual ideas, beliefs and experiences that fall into the mysterious world we call the paranormal. Yet, curiosity is driving people to dive deeper into these fascinating subjects, and they’re eager to uncover the secrets that lie beyond the ordinary.

In August 2022, something exciting happened in Tucson: the Tucson Paranormal Society (TPS) came to life! Don Zavis, co-founder of TPS, explains that the main idea behind TPS is to create a welcoming space where everyone can come together to talk about their thoughts, beliefs and experiences—especially those stories that they might hesitate to share with others out of fear of being judged or ridiculed.

Now, let’s dive into what we mean when we talk about the “paranormal.” For many people, it brings to mind images of ghosts floating through old houses, mysterious UFOs or UAPs zooming through the sky, or even the legendary Bigfoot lurking in the woods. However, at TPS we broaden our view a bit, to include so much more. It encompasses anything that remains a mystery at this point in human history.

This broader definition invites us to explore ancient secrets, hidden wisdom, and fascinating areas like metaphysics, spiritual and psychic development, healing and the intuitive arts. So, whether someone is curious about the unknown or has their own spooky stories to share, TPS offers support and understanding in a community that truly gets it.
